Representation Of The Mind Schizophrenia

My inspiration for this makeup comes from the artwork of Louis Wain’s schizophrenic cats. It was fascinating to see his transformation in his artwork due to his schizophrenic behaviours. I want to create something similar to this, so I have used his multiple patterns as inspiration to practice on my face.

I used flesh coloured face paints and different shades of mac foundations to create this look. I used different parts of patterns as inspiration from Louis warns artwork. For the hair I sectioned it out so that I could place the hair sculptures in. To secure the hair sculptures I back combed at the root and gripped them in. I decided not to use my wefted eyelashe in this makeup after I had coloured the face, It looked too mcuh with the makeup and I was unable to bleach it a lighter shade.

I really wanted to build height with this look, so I pinned the balls on top of each other and wrapped the hair around them, I played around with shapes and making the two parts of the hair different textures until I got a creative look. I had a long piece of hair at the back and started to experiment with using it around the neck, I felt like this met my project theme well and it added to the overall look

During the making for this makeup, I was very unsure how it would turn out. I have ever worked with hair sculptures before, so it was a good experience to work with hair. It was much harder than I thought to create the image I wanted; however, I am really pleased with the final images. I particularly like the black and white images; they give focus to the dark and light areas of the hair and makeup.
